About the Boothbay Region
Midcoast Maine is a region nestled in the coastline of the great state of Maine. Summertime cottages, year-round homes, and sprawling estates line the rocky waters. At sea, dozens of lighthouses guide sailors home, the hum of the fog horns reverberating through the area. The Boothbay Region is home to several thousand year round residents, and over 25,000 in the summer months. Situated only one hour from Portland and 2-1/2 hours from Boston, Boothbay offers a quiet sanctuary away from the busy life of the city. In the summertime, Boothbay becomes a vacation destination. Tourists from around the world flock to the rugged coast to take in the gorgeous views, eat hearty seafood, and ease into the slower paced lifestyle of the region. Visitors and residents alike enjoy hiking trails, kayaking, boating, golfing, fishing and more.
